Did some gardening yesterday. While cleaning out the leaves from my flowerbeds I discovered - My mint is going insane! It is like, taking over that section of dirt at an incredible rate. I got rather rude with it last fall, ripping handfuls away from the irises, and I think it took offense. It spread several feet in retaliation! I may have to get a bit more severe.

In my garden, I planted the mint in a large terra-cotta pot, which I sunk into the ground. An attempt at control.

My little patch of mint didn't make it through the winter. New plantings coming soon ...

I have a place in my yard where NOTHING thrives, so I planted mint there, expecting it to go like crazy. Well, it went allright - yup, gone. I think I have discovered the "black hole" of gardening:)

Ahhh - my mint is allowed to take over certain places. At the foundation of the house is my favorite - when the dogs lie there they smell so nice! If you think it's bad - watchout when the catmint takes off.
